Iowa City Woman's Club records, 1917-2000.

Collection came to SHSI in series of accessions beginning in the mid-1950s. Scrapbooks form the bulk of the material which documents the activities of the club. Includes membership books, secretary's minutes, financial records, and a small set of records from the Iowa Federation of Women's Clubs. Also contains miscellaneous histories, reports, and a survey done in 1965 by the Fine Arts Department of the state organization.

The Iowa City Woman's Club formed in 1922 to provide service to the community. It was affiliated with the Iowa Federation of Women's Clubs, and the national General Federation of Women's Clubs. Through its garden, home, literature, public welfare, and social science departments the club sought to promote the public welfare.
